After today, Brian's on vacation for a week. I am going to work from home on Monday and Tuesday since I've put in 45 hours this week to keep my 30 hours per week average. I'm still getting used to working for someone else again, but in so many ways, this is so much easier and less stressful. I did love being my own boss, but I really hated many parts of being in business for myself, and most of those had to do with financial stuff. It sucked all the good out of it for me.
The cat is out of the bag on his big birthday surprise. He now knows I'm taking him antiquing, gourmet dining, live jazz listening, art gallery gallivanting in Saugatuck
for 4 days. I can't wait. This is someplace both of us really love going for a visit. I have a really awesome bed & breakfast chosen, so it's going to be quaint and romantic and fun.
Tomorrow, we're going to a star party and lasera show at Longway Planetarium. The weather will be great, so I'm gonna be looking at the heavens in detail. I love the feeling of realizing how vast and beautiful our skies appear.
I planted some seeds in pots over the last couple of weeks. I should be seeing sproutlings soon. Brian and I got two huge hydrangeas last weekend. The kind that produce blue flowers in acidic soil and pink in alkaline soil. And he also bought me a tree. Yes, we live in the woods, and he bought me a tree. *grin*
This has long been my favorite tree, in particular, this variation of the Eastern Redbud with nearly black bark, burgundy leaves and an aura of a reddish lavender flower that makes me smile whenever I see it. We need to decide on a location this weekend and get it situated. It's getting to be happy planting time at The Hermitage!!
