I love m'peeps. The 2 legged kind. They are keeping me busy and on top of the world.
On the 4th I enjoyed a fantastic party and fireworks display with hannunvaakuna
. It was fantastic to see some faces I normally only chat with on line or here in LJland. Other lovely moments included s'mores shared, fire pits, new stories, and curve appreciation.peculiaire
came in from California for a visit and met up with us at the party. A midnight, top down ride back home with her in Missy was the perfect ending to the night. We spent Thursday visiting and working from home, side by side. Put our noggin's together to make a really excellent pasta dish which we enjoyed by candlelight, thanks to the power going out and a brief, but spectacular thunderstorm.
On Friday, we left work around 3 and joined gwyrah
on a trek up to their Harrisville cabin for a weekend of decadent slack. Walkies, bonfire on the beach watching 3 different firework shows over the bay, spotting 4 satellites and many shooting stars for wishing upon, good food, awesome chocolate, and our noses deeply into excellent books (I read War for the Oaks in its entirety on Saturday. What a charming book, and one to learn a lot about character creation). And naps. I love afternoon naps, especially when it overtakes everyone at once. Synchronized napping! Oh, and domino games that last until 3 am. And did I mention the company. 5 star, top notch.
This weekend we're heading down to Delta, Ohio to spend more quality friend time at the most incredible event ever. The Delta Chicken Fest. Oh laugh if as you will, I know that we will be having the winning time. Hey...this festival is one year older than Brian! And nothing says pampering like a weekend at Chez Szxzbl...Scbl...Szbz....legi0n
Brian has encouraged me to get the last Harry Potter book at midnight next Friday. Is anyone else going? We've got our reservation at the Border's at Great Lakes Crossing. It would be fun to meet up!
And in 17 days, our cross country adventure begins!!!
August has some incredible moments already starting to develop. *rubs hands together* Yes indeedy. This is the type of summer my 18 year old self would have heartily approved!
