Poll #1087623 Health Care Costs

What's the most you've ever paid for a prescription drug (per pill cost)?

Were there any left over?

Brought to you by the astronomical cost of the new drug I'm on. Sure, it's a natural compound instead of a synthetic, which means that I'm more likely to metabolize it easier. But, like anything labeled organic, the cost is significantly higher. To the tune of $4.06 per pill, $122 for a 30 day supply. I sure as hell am glad that I only have a $40 copay, and I certainly hope that the plan is for me to take 30 days worth of these suckers, because, if not, I want a refund for what's left over!

Yeah, yeah...I'm supposed to be relaxing, not getting annoyed at the high cost of getting healthy!

Lorna and I don't have insurance at all. When I get sick I have to think about finances, and decide if I can even afford to go to the doctor at all. It's unreasonable.

Also, the cost of drugs makes me angry. Once, John told me the price his parents were paying for all of their meds, and I practically fell out of my chair.

Bunch of jerks. *shakes fist*

I'm in a similar boat as you and Lorna.

I find myself holing up, because, you know.. I'm ravenously social anyways, to avoid other peoples germs. No way to get a cold if you're not exposed to it.

Not being able to afford to be sick, really bothers me. In some countries health care is treated much like the fire and police services -- for some reason the US has not caught on.

Stay healthy!

whoops, my answer was invalid (I missed the per pill cost)...it would have been 30 day supply I paid $45 for years and years ago...

Mine was an optional prescription, not an I'm sick script. The Chantix, to quit smoking was not covered by insurance at around $110 for a month (aprox 33 pills). I did have some left over from the last month of it.

I did not actually get this script, since my doc asked if I had great health insurance and got a "NO" from me before he wrote it. Good thing. I about fell over when he told me the cost.
