So, yesterday was an interesting day for a variety of reasons.
In reverse order:
-Spent the evening elbow deep in a bunch of new reads
-Visited the Brand New-to-Ortonville Tractor Supply Store. It's right at the end of our street. I picked up a huge magazine on raising/breeding/sheering Alpacas. Found out that one of the boss ladies at the store has a local Alpaca farm (about 5 minutes away). The dream is on.
-Went to Border's and indulged in some retail therapy. $70, 2 hard back, 1 soft cover, and 1 magazine later, we enjoyed some Seattle Coffee drinks and a black & white cookie while thumbing through our purchases.
-Let Brian talk me into going into work with him for what was supposed to be 2 hours max. 2 hours max in Brian's World is 4 hours. During the nicest weather part of the day. At least I can use this time towards my 40 hours.
-We started the late morning off by going to our favorite local restaurant for breakfast. As we were sitting down, we heard someone point out the "for sale" sign out front. The owner's son informed everyone that yes, indeed, they were done running a restaurant. His mom wants to relax and enjoy life and not be tied to the restaurant, and he's an artist/cook who is looking to do more of his own thing, and less of his mom's thing.
Now, while we were very bummed to hear that we were losing the last best local restaurant for breakfast in the area, he made an offhanded comment that delighted us beyond reason.
He's a tattoo artist. We got to talking. He's really interested in drawing up a tattoo for my wrist scar. He and his partners are having a tattoo party on March 9th. We're going to go and take a look at his work. We may just have a local artist interested in working with us on the pieces we're interested in having. I may get inked this year!!! There is something about his style that makes me want to believe he'd be able to do what we're envisioning. I won't get too excited until I see some examples, but something in my gut says this conversation was supposed to happen.
Today? I am going to entertain my inner artist. *smooches*
