Listening to Dan Rather Reports on the brain and the mind and interviews with the Dalai Lama this morning. Some things are jumping out at me.
"[breathing meditation is] not for next life, not for heaven, *laughs softly* but for day-to-day well being"
The Dalai Lama doesn't participate in scientific experiments, but encourages his monks to, because he feels his brain is nothing special because he doesn't have sufficient time to meditate. Yet he participates in scientific forum and has since the 90's because he believes in scientific validation and research.
And just to make me adore this individual more, he told Dan Rather that he is going back to school to get a degree in quantum science.
