Brian took me out shooting for Mother's Day. Yeah, I know...wrong day, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow.
Good gods, did I enjoy myself. The photo of the target is mine. Not bad for sighting in a new gun. Brian's target was a little more consistent than mine, but I still had slightly more in the center than he did. And yeah, I'm being a tad snotty about it. Because, you know...he has a "target pistol" and mine is a "squirrel hunter." I think the salesman gushing that I have two of the most accurate guns out there that may have gotten him a bit sniffy about it all. Did I mention they got my Browning Buck Mark in 2.5 months early?! I had to put it on layaway. *sniffles* She's gorgeous and feels like she was fit specifically to my hand.
But honestly, we both had a great time. It's hours later and our ears are still ringing a bit (we had good ear plugs, but the guys on either side of us shooting .45 caliber/Glock really messed with us.) Damn those things are loud, and it really surprised me to 'feel' the percussion as a force strong enough to feel like someone had blown air in my face. It took me about 15 of the 75 minutes we were out there to get accustomed to the bigger guns. I felt the adrenaline for a good hour afterward. We will be investing in some ear muff type ear protection here soon. Oh...and a speed loader. My thumb tips are screaming over loading the clips over and over.
I can't wait to go out again!!
