For the first time ever, my lilac bush has given me enough blooms to bring some into the house to delight in their fragrance. I think it's a thank you for cutting a lot of stuff back and off of the plant last Autumn. They were able to get full sun for a change and they are showing me what a difference that makes.

Also, my hibiscus likes me. Lipstick orange blooms.

My basil sprouts are 2" and filling out. But most exciting, I have a dozen rosemary plants that are establishing themselves nicely that I've grown from sprouts.

My marmot is going to get his adorable little ass kicked, though. He's eaten the blossoms off of all my pansies. The cute little bastard.

(I caught him snoozin')

I was just thinking about you and making the decision that I will not leave this country until I have had a chance to go there or you here.

This thrills me. Completely.

I like groundhogs when they aren't in my garden. We don't plant peas any more because of them!

My lilacs never last long enough. They are my favorite flower and seem to fade so quickly.

Why do I keep killing my lavender?

Don't over-love it. Lavender thrives on neglect.

OMG! You can't be mad though, look how cute he is! :)

I'm curious about your hibiscus. Did it come back from last year? I planted one last year, and there's no sign of it. I thought it might be a late bloomer (since the Rose of Sharon bush is just getting leaves), but if yours is all grown, I might have to admit defeat and plant something else in it's place.

Oh! I'm sorry...I sort of changed tracks. The hibiscus is a houseplant that I just got a few months ago and it's finally decided that it likes its new home!

OH! Ok then. I know that when you grow them outside around here they CAN come back, but I'm not sure when. I guess that before I give up on mine I'll do a little reading and see if I'm just being impatient.
