Indulge me a moment.
The credit union I work for is considered a moderate sized C.U. We currently have a state charter and serve a primary community, Genesee County. Hopefully later this year we'll have a community charter, which will mean that it will be easier to join and we'll be able to serve an increasingly diverse community.
That said, when I started back in February of last year, I was tasked with improving the website. In essence, it's a branch that I manage. We were only averaging 80,000 hits a month. I started cleaning things up and making it easier to use and navigate. I improved graphics and did my own marketing campaigns with banner ads for our services. I have things out there that are informative, educational, and useful.
We've outgrown what I can do with the hosting system, so in the next few months I will be redoing the web from scratch. It will keep a similar look and feel, but will be far better. My hands are tied currently with some options and I'll be glad to be off of it.
But the indulging bit...
80,000 hits average per month when I started.
135,000 in May. Yeah baby!!! And to show growth...we had 116,000 last month. That's 19,000 more hits to our page this month. And yes, I know why, the numbers show me it's a good bit of my marketing efforts coupled with a move to easier/more secure way to access on line banking.
I got an email from the CEO saying "Have I told you lately that I love you."
I may screw up some personal things from time to time, but I rock in the business world.
