Off to a credit union marketing conference in a few hours. In a casino. Someone is truly warped and I adore them for that.
Yesterday we installed Campaign Office for our ATMs, taking the blue screens with white lettering to full color customizable screens. I had a lot of fun with the installers who are used to dealing with folks who have never dealt with design work or HTML coding. They were working on the ATMs in the main branch (across the parking lot from the Admin building) and told me to call them over when I was ready to install the welcome screens and build a campaign. About an hour later I wandered over to talk to them and see what my work looked like. Earl, the CO expert, looks at me and says "I specifically told you to call me back over!" with a laugh and we went to look at what I had done on the ATM. He cocks an eyebrow at me and says "damn that looks good." I just grinned and told him I got a little button happy on the new toy they gave me.
I guess that when the local tech came out (these guys were from the Ohio Diebold office) they told him how quickly I was pushing out new custom content and as the machine was rebooting, there were new screens in just the few minutes that the machine had taken to come back up. I did make a few small errors, but it was good to see what the effects were...like, well, if you forget to tell it which language to use, it defaults to French. Easy to fix.
But I honestly felt like a kid in a candy store with an expense account. Our receipts now have our logo, phone and website. I rarely use the ATMs, so I wasn't aware that we had nothing on the receipts linking them to us!
In one day, we made some impressive changes to our equipment that are all improvements to the experience. That's a good day of work!
