I finally finished my mom's shawl. It's packed and ready to go. On to finishing my mother-in-law's sweater next.

Well done! That looks like it was ***A LOT*** of work!

Thank you. Acutally, it's an ok job. It's not my best work. It was exhausting to do. Too much going on. I can see so many things wrong with it. I think that's why I haven't sent it until now. It's weird, Jen, my mom is so excited. She's talking about it being this heirloom type piece and I think it is sub par. I should just be happy because it does look nice, but I'm a little disappointed in myself.

Knowing you, I had thought to ask you how many times you frogged stitches and worked backwards to perfect things. I didn't want to get you fretting over any imperfections you've perceived though. ;)

It's lovely! You're too close to it right now, and too much of a perfectionist. It looks awesome. It wasn't knit by a machine and it shouldn't look like it was. Besides, in crafts, just as in people, flaws add character. ;)

If flaws add character, that shawl is as much of a character as I am. *grins*

Thank you, really. I think I just have unresolved issues regarding my folks and gift giving.
