Started today out by designing the rough draft of the business card for my new sideline business.
I woke up around 6 and laid in bed just thinking. I put together some ideas in my head then got up and fired up Moppet (my 24” iMac graphics workhorse) and started getting what was in my head down in visual form. I’m quite pleased with the results.
Then Brian and I went out to get breakfast before heading to McMath Hulbert. When we got there only Tom and Ed were there. Brian went out with them to take down the fractured antenna from Dome 1. I stayed inside reading the 119 page document Tom suggested on the Spectroheliograph. Later, Tom came inside and took me over to Dome 2 to have a tour.
He showed me the end results of what the device can do, then he showed me some of the mechanical aspects. We went all the way up to the top of the dome (quite a trek! 4 staircases worth!) to see the big mirrors. Then we came back to ground level and went down one level to see the 30’ well where the device is underground.
I don’t know how I am going to help on this project, but I certainly can’t help but be very excited about being a part of it.
The middle tower is where I was today.
After, we hit up Michaels for some more Micron pens and some tracing paper for working on logos.
Grabbed a nice 30 minute nap. I do enjoy a good nap.
For dinner, I baked cornbread, breaded pork ribs, and for vegetable, I made some truly excellent jalapeno poppers. I mixed cream cheese, garlic powder and shredded Mexican cheese blend. I halved and seeded the peppers, then filled the halves with the mixture, dipped them in egg and then rolled them in a mix of bread crumbs and ground French’s onions. Baked everything for 25 minutes and then we feasted. Those really were the best poppers ever!
The evening consisted of Series 5 of Dark Shadows and just enjoying life.
