The house smells wonderful and has so many apple products, including apple cider and apple pie.
This is the most I have canned in one season and I just know I will appreciate every jar this winter as I crack them open to enjoy.
17 quarts Spicy Tomato Soup
10 quarts Tomato Sauce
5 quarts & 4 pints Roasted Tomato & Garlic Pasta Sauce.
6 quarts of pickled cauliflower/hungarian and jalapeno peppers/garlic cloves
6 half pints Apple Butter
7 half pints Salted Caramel Apple Jam
7 pints and 5 half pints Cinnamon Apple Sauce
I don't know exactly what appeals to me about cooking, but I find it very soothing and creative. I love painting a flavor palette. There's also something satisfying in making foods that people enjoy and appreciate. Maybe that's my great grandmother's influence coming out. She showed her love by making us wonderful food. I still remember her kitchen very vividly, even though I haven't been there in over 30 years. It sill shows up in dreams. It's funny how I even remember the tiles on the countertop.
